How to do it?..
There are simple gold test
Kits that include test stones, set of gold
test needles and 10kt, 14kt, and 18kt acids.
These acids include Hydrochloric Acid &
Nitric Acid combined together because there
is no acid that can consume the gold by
itself.
The
test stone (Touchstone)
is usually black silicone stone 20/40 mm.
Test Process…

First we need to check if there is any
“gold purity mark” on the jewelry.

We choose unimportant part on the
jewelry and polish it on the test stone
until we get an extended stain on the
test stone.

Next to this stain we make another stain
on the test stone with the
gold test needles. There is another option, if we don’t have gold test
needles we can use another piece of gold
on which we insure the purity level and
then according to that test we will test
the first piece of gold.

On the stains we created we will drip
acid with the purity level we want to
check.

If the stains are gone- that means the
acid consumed it! So the gold purity
level is lower than the acid purity
level!

If we still see the stain- that means
the acid didn’t consume the gold so the
gold purity level is higher than the
acid purity level we dripped on!
